These signs take precarity as their material condition. As you play this cornhole style game, taking the colorful sandbag weights and tossing them through the holes in the signs, you are removing the crucial counterweights that keep the signs upright. We were thinking about these sculptures as contingent objects, props, games, dares—illustrations of the obscured inequalities and power relations at work in everyday life. They are informed by reading and by our own lived experience as workers, renters, parents, artists, and teachers.
